Tackling Digital Inequality

We're collaborating with the likes of Vodafone, FiberSpeed and Comtek to tackle digital inequality by delivering high speed internet to more than 1 million people.

Through our £5.5m Digital Signal Processing Centre (DSP), Bangor University is revolutionising digital signal processing and ensuring the future sustainability of internet communications

Bangor University’s DSP Centre is the first of its kind in the UK.

The research that we do here acts as a glue to not only develop digital systems which will make a national and global impact but bring industry-leading businesses together to work on these plans.

Professor Roger Giddings,  Deputy Operations Director, DSP Centre of Excellence, Bangor University

Vodafone UK is very excited to be engaged in the Welsh Government 5G EDC with Bangor University and other industry partners. The programme is set to identify ways of overcoming digital exclusion within Wales.  Vodafone has publicly committed via our campaign “everyone.connected” to helping to connect one million people living in digital exclusion. This collaboration aligns fully to our ambitions.

Paul Morton,  Head of Defence, Vodafone UK

We are so fortunate to have a local university with world-class expertise within their DSP centre to support us with the development of our latest technology. Comtek’s Sorrento branded optical transmission products (WDM) underpin the latest 5G innovation
