Biography:
Tania has been involved with health care research within the NHS for 12 years in various roles. Tania’s experience relates to the operational management of studies from set up, including the engagement of research naive clinicians, through to active recruitment, assessments of interventions, data collection and management, and closure and archiving. Tania has a breadth of experience ranging across CTIMP studies through to interventional and observational studies and also experience with industry sponsored studies. The management of studies in terms of quality and integrity has always been of interest to Tania and has driven much of her interest and training. Tania’s main area of research work has been in malignant haematology but she has also worked supporting a portfolio of rheumatology trials and other cardiovascular, dermatology, respiratory, critical care and palliative care studies. Tania is from a nursing background having worked in haematology and oncology for more than 15 years.
Current position held at Bangor University:
Tenovus funded PhD Student. Project: Diagnostic Journeys in Myeloma: why are they so long and what might facilitate earlier diagnosis. A mixed methods study recruiting from haematology MDTs across Wales determining the patients pathways to diagnosis in Wales over an 18th month period.
