Sports and Facilities
With our main sports centre, Canolfan Brailsford currently a standby hospital (Ysbyty Enfys) we have built a new gym next to Reichel Hall on the Ffriddoedd site to house almost all the equipment that was in Canolfan Brailsford. Reichel gym will be open from the 21st Sept and those students living in Bangor University accommodation at Ffriddoedd or St Mary’s have a membership included in their rent. Also on the Ffriddoedd site are grass pitches for football and lacrosse along with an all-weather floodlit pitch for hockey.
The Treborth outdoor pitches, including a brand new FIFA and IRB 3G pitch and athletics track, are located in an area of outstanding natural beauty with views across the Menai Strait to Anglesey. Pitches are provided for football (floodlit), rugby and American football.
At our Normal Site there are two sports halls which include an armoury for fencing and indoor archery facilities as well as indoor cricket nets.
A fitness room is also provided for residents of the St Mary’s student village.
Coleg Menai Sports Hall – this year the University will provide extra training spaces for some student teams in clubs in the Coleg Menai Sports Hall, adjacent to our Ffriddoedd site.
