Bangor researcher shortlisted for Southwood Prize 2022
NERC-IIASA Research Fellow Eleanor Warren-Thomas was shortlisted for the British Ecological Society Southwood Prize 2022, for post-doctoral work conducted at the University of York, and published in the Journal of Applied Ecology.
Twelve papers were shortlisted, with each early-career researcher provided with the opportunity to write a blog or create a podcast about their studies.
Eleanor's paper ‘No evidence for trade-offs between bird diversity, yield and water table depth on oil palm smallholdings: Implications for tropical peatland landscape restoration’ focussed on biodiversity, drainage and cultivation on peatlands in Indonesia.
A new blog posted on 'The Applied Ecologist' outlines the research, the team and wider project, and Eleanor's career history in ecology so far.
