Clubs and Societies

Get the most out of your time at Bangor - get involved!

Sport Clubs

Whatever sport you’re interested in, there’s a club for it at Bangor. From traditional sports such as rugby, netball, football and tennis to outdoor activities like surfing, paddleboarding, canoeing and windsurfing. You can also try your hand at something different like underwater hockey(octopush), pole fitness and ultimate frisbee.

Many of our sports clubs compete in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) events, with regular fixtures against other universities taking place. One of the highlights of the year is Varsity, a weekend of sporting competition between Bangor University and Aberystwyth University.

Societies

Our Students’ Union societies bring like-minded people together. There are course related societies, such as Langsoc, Zoosoc and Psych Soc; societies that celebrate nationalities and cultures and societies for students with the same interests, such as drama, music, film, photography.

Our list of societies is incredibly varied, but if you want to start your own, that's possible too.

Volunteering

During your free time, you can join in with the Students' Union's student-led volunteering projects. Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community, whilst gaining valuable skills.
