Overview
The DSP Centre was awarded £50,000 from the Wales Innovation Network Pump-priming projects funding stream in Spring 2022. The funding enabled the DSP Centre to develop four portable prototypes based on the Centre’s proposed and theoretically / experimentally verified cutting-edge technologies. The four prototypes were unveiled at a launch event of the North Wales Growth Deal (NWGD) DSP project, to demonstrate the DSP Centre’s technical achievements to date.
Prototypes
£40k was utilized for purchasing essential electrical/optical components and equipment required in developing the prototypes and the corresponding demonstration systems.
- Distributed fibre optic sensing (DFOS)
- Physical layer secure optical networks (PLSON)
- 5G-based VR/AR (XR) applications
- Visible light communication (VLC)
Launch Event
