Shifting climate, shifting threats: understanding the impact of climate change on chytrid disease dynamics in a global salamander biodiversity hotspot: PhD opportunity at Bangor University
Dr. Owen Osborne (MEEB, Bangor University), Dr. Amy Ellison (MEEB, Bangor University), Dr. Brian Gratwicke (Smithsonian Institution), Dr. Louise Barwell (UKCEH), Prof. Lesley Lancaster (University of Aberdeen) and Dr. Greta Bocedi (University of Aberdeen) are currently recruiting for a competitive PhD opportunity funded by the NERC Envision DTP.
The project will include extensive international fieldwork and use cutting-edge approaches in molecular biology, disease ecology and spatial modelling to explore how climate-change influences disease dynamics in Appalachian salamanders and identify practical, low-cost strategies to reduce disease risks.
The closing date is 12th March 2025 and the full advertisement is here. Please get in touch with Owen Osborne to discuss the project or with any informal queries.
