Aaron Robinson began his doctoral journey at Bangor’s Centre for Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies in 2018. On 11 June, 2024, Aaron successfully defended his PhD thesis, entitled ‘Toward a Theology of Faithful Witness: A 21st Century, African American, Pentecostal Engagement with the Apocalypse’. His research offers a narrative reading of the book of Revelation, tracing the motif of witness throughout, and offering a theological construct based on the reading. As an African-American Pentecostal scholar, Aaron’s work concludes with a contextualized look at his observations, situated in the African-American Pentecostal Church.
Dr Robinson is excited to see this project completed and has now set his attention to a new vocational assignment and monograph project.
Reflecting on his journey at Bangor University, Dr Robinson said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience at Bangor University! The supervisors and colleagues were very helpful in providing critical feedback as well as encouragement along the way. The attention and personal support given by the supervisors really helps to set students up for a successful viva. The most exciting part of the journey was our seminar, held twice a year. Being able to submit our work for critical peer review helped to sharpen our defence skills!’
