The most expensive advertisement ever was created by Chanel in 2004 featuring Nicole Kidman and directed by Baz Luhrmann. It cost $33 million to put together!
Marketing is not always about pursuing profits, and can be used to influence people's behaviours for the greater good e.g. by raising awareness about the risks of excessive alcohol consumption.
I enjoy teaching using lots of examples of good and bad Marketing practices, and focusing on the skills that students will need to pursue a career in Marketing such as communication, creativity, teamwork and critical thinking.
Taylor Swift. Not only is she a great musician, I also think she is a Marketing genius! She is a master in understanding and catering to her audience: the “Swifties.”
I have always considered Marketing to be an exciting and fast-paced subject which offers opportunities to be both strategic and creative. Importantly, Marketing is underpinned by understanding people (or 'consumers') and their behaviours, which is what I find interesting.

This undermines the value of understanding the data, the algorithms, and the consumer profiles. Marketing is an exciting and dynamic subject requiring detailed planning and application.
I am lucky to work with several businesses offering advice on digital marketing and consumer engagement. Therefore, I am regularly disseminating information and able to witness how it translates into commercial success.
