THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON MINDFULNESS 2024 (ICM:2024) WILL BE HOSTED IN BANGOR, ON 2-6 AUGUST 2024
This event will bring together mindfulness researchers, trainers, supervisors, teachers, and practitioners, with contemplatives, policy makers, service users and the general public. We will aim to include (as speakers and participants) the diverse perspectives and voices of those who historically have not been at the table.
It is possible to join us for the full 5 days or 2.5 day conference. Decide how much of the conference you would like to attend by selecting the options below.
Overview
This conference is a rallying call for diverse perspectives on the relevance, significance, and potential of mindfulness in our world, in these times. The world and our society are going through significant changes. Our goal is to provide a space where people can come together to talk, ask questions, and feel inspired. Together we will explore the role of mindfulness in response to the many possibilities and challenges we face today.
Using our five main strands, the conference will explore how mindfulness can contribute to the challenges of social disruption, inequality, lack of inclusion and diversity, and climate and biodiversity breakdown, as well as inquiring into mindfulness approaches in education, workplaces and health and well-being.
-
Strand 1: Scientific Research, theory and pedagogy
-
Strand 2: Contemplative, Philosophical and Spiritual
-
Strand 3: Cultural, social and systemic approached
-
Strand 4: Grass roots, real world application and innovation
-
Strand 5: Political, Environmental and global initiatives
We will raise the challenging questions and dilemmas that we are all facing as we inquire into what is most needed in the world at this time.
