“I graduated from Bangor University with a BA in French and Business Studies after transferring from a larger university. I remember how friendly Bangor University felt as soon as I arrived and still think fondly of the University and my time there.

Bangor provided lots of opportunities for me, one of the highlights of which was being selected to attend a residential entrepreneurship course in the US which was an unforgettable experience and undoubtedly strengthened my desire and confidence to start my own business.

After graduating with a First Class degree in 2009, I worked in international trade for a few years before setting up a translation agency. A few years later, I went on to be co-founder of the online gifting company, Letterbox Gifts. After spotting a gap in the market for online luxury gifts that could be conveniently posted through the letterbox, Letterbox Gifts was born. The company went from strength to strength and is now one of the leading online gift companies in the UK.

We deliver gifts all over the world but our office and workshops are based in Sheffield, which is where I live with my husband, Michael and our two beautiful children Annabelle and Ted. We’ve taken Annabelle to Bangor as a baby but look forward to taking them both to visit sometime. Michael also has lots of fond memories as he used to visit me there regularly and my parents were so taken by Bangor, that they still go annually!”
