Archives and Special Collections Annual Exhibitions CELEBRATING 140 - 2024 In this exhibition we give a glimpse of the rich history of the University for the last 140 years. From the great mass of material held by the University’s own Archives, a selection of representative and evocative examples has been made to illustrate the life and work of the past and present students and staff. CONNECTING COLLECTIONS - 2023 This year, 100 years since the publication of its first book, we celebrate the work of the Gregynog Press, one of the foremost private presses that was resurrected in the 70s under the name, Gwasg Gregynog. R.S. THOMAS: HIS LIFE AND WRITING - 2022 Our annual exhibition this year celebrates the life and work of the poet R.S. Thomas (1913-2000) CELEBRATING THE CENTENARY OF URDD GOBAITH CYMRU - 2022 Bangor University would like to wish Urdd Gobaith Cymru #Urdd100, Wales' leading youth organization, a happy centenary this year. REACH FOR THE SUMMIT - 2021 In our annual exhibition, we trace the history of mountaineering in north Wales through the medium of a variety of printed material and manuscripts from our Special Collections. SIR CHARLES HARPER "COLONIAL ADMINISTRATOR" - 2020 The Charles Harper collection consists of 15 albums which serve as an important record of the life and work of a civil servant within the British Empire, pre and post World War I. REMEMBERING CYNAN ONLINE EXHIBITION - 2020 In 2020 we noted the fiftieth anniversary of the death of the poet, Cynan (1895-1970), and our annual exhibition traced the story of his life and work through our manuscripts and books.
