Confucius Institute Tutors Join Innovative Teacher Training in Cardiff!
In a proactive move to elevate teaching standards and foster collaboration, the Cardiff Confucius Institute organised a comprehensive training day tailored for Mandarin tutors. Hosted in Cardiff, the event showcased a wide array of new teaching methodologies and techniques, all aimed at enriching learners' educational landscapes.
Among the training highlights was a workshop led by Yuanyuan Luo, a senior teacher at Bangor University Confucius Institute. Yuanyuan conducted a comparative analysis of effective behavioural management in primary and secondary schools in China and Wales. Her insights into the causes of misbehaviour in both countries and strategies for managing behaviour in the Welsh educational context provided valuable perspectives for the attending tutors.
Throughout the training, tutors immersed themselves in innovative pedagogical approaches, exploring avenues to skilfully communicate Mandarin language proficiency. Emphasising interactive learning strategies and contemporary teaching tools, participants gleaned invaluable insights into fostering student engagement in language acquisition.
A standout feature of the event was the vibrant exchange of information and ideas among tutors not only from the Confucius Institute at Bangor University but also from Confucius Institutes in Cardiff and the University of Trinity St David, Lampeter. This collaborative exchange served as a fertile ground for the sharing of best practices, experiences, and resources, nurturing a collective ethos among Mandarin teaching professionals.
This successful training day underscores Bangor Confucius Institute's unwavering commitment to continually elevating teaching standards and promoting cultural exchange within Mandarin language education.
