New PhD project: Biodiversity for woodland resilience. The long-term functional ecology of tree diversity
An exciting opportunity for a fully-funded PhD in the long-term functional ecology of tree diversity for woodland resilience.
The project will be based on fieldwork in two woodland National Nature Reserves in Wales with high biodiversity, Coed Dolgarrog in the Conwy Valley and Lady Park Wood in the Wye Valley, where Bangor University have permanent sample plots monitoring long-term dynamics. The PhD is a collaboration between UKCEH and Bangor University. Professor John Healey and Dr Marielle Smith co-supervisors, together with Simon Smart and Mike Perring in UKCEH.
This project is being advertised by the Envision Doctoral Training Partnership for its competition for award of a NERC PhD studentship.
