Compulsory Modules (1): Music theory fundamentals All single honours students must take either Melody and Harmony or its Welsh-medium equivalent.

Compulsory Modules (2): Music History All students must take at least one of the two music history modules, through the medium of English or Welsh: WXM / WXC 1300 or WXM / WXC 1301. The same module cannot be taken in English and Welsh.

Optional Modules in Music The student must take between 60 and 80 credits from the modules in Optional Modules. Modules can be taken in English or Welsh, but cannot be taken in English and in Welsh (i.e. students can take: WXK 1113 or WXC 1113; WXK 1114 or WXC 1114; WXP 1016 or WXC 1016). Students may take further modules all in Music or in other subjects at Level 4, up to a maximum of 40 credits. (Students do not have to take in other subjects.) Modules in other subjects are subject to the approval of the delivering department, and feasibility of timetabling.
