Overview
There is no set syllabus. The subject matter can be drawn from any area of marketing, and may involve working with others as part of a team to solve a real-life marketing problem that an organization faces.
Assessment Strategy
-threshold -D- to D+ (40-49%): No major omissions or inaccuracies in the deployment of information/skills. Some grasp of theoretical/conceptual/practical elements. Integration of theory/practice/information present intermittently in pursuit of the assessed work's objectives. -good -B- to B+ (60-69%): Most of the relevant information accurately deployed. Good grasp of theoretical/conceptual/practical elements. Good integration of theory/practice/information in pursuit of the assessed work's objectives. Evidence of the use of creative and reflective skills. -excellent -A- to A (70% +):* Outstanding performance. The relevant information accurately deployed. Excellent grasp of theoretical/conceptual/practice elements. Good integration of theory/practice/information in pursuit of the assessed work's objectives. Strong evidence of the use of creative and reflective skills. -another level-C- to C+ (50-59%): Much of the relevant information and skills mostly accurately deployed. Adequate grasp of theoretical/conceptual/practical elements. Fair integration of theory/practice/information in the pursuit of the assessed work's objectives. Some evidence of the use of creative and reflective skills.
Learning Outcomes
- Apply appropriate analytical, statistical, IT, research design, writing and other research skills in order to extract and present relevant theoretical and/or empirical evidence on the chosen topic.
- Demonstrate an ability to breakdown and explain the marketing research process.
- Demonstrate an ability to confidently present complex ideas orally and in written form.
- Demonstrate good presentation and organisational skills through planning, writing, editing, and compiling a substantial research report.
- Demonstrate sound business acumen in providing recommendations on how to solve the marketing problem stipulated in the research brief provided.
- Identify and synthesise relevant research to inform the design of the project.

A detailed account of the research method including a data collection and analysis plan. Any research instrument that is intended for use should be provided. Ethical considerations need to be discussed and a completed ethical vetting form included in the submission.

Final Research Brief: A fully developed research brief (developed from the draft brief provided) covering the outline of the project including relevant contextual background and key underpinning literature, as well as methods that could be employed to achieve the overall research aim(s). Practicalities such as potential constraints and a timeline of activity should also be documented.
