Overview
Indicative list:
- identify tourist typologies (Plog, Cohen, Dann etc) and motivational factors within the travel and tourism industry linking to global geographical locations.
- explain the characteristics of tourism such as seasonality, intangibility, heterogeneity, perishability and inseparability and the challenges the global industry faces as a result.
- examine the variance of growth in global tourism, identifying destinations, regions and continents that have experienced different rates and scales of growth and possible events that may have impacted on this.
- assess key areas of tourism impact, to include the positive and negative impacts on the economic, social, cultural and natural environments.
- explain the theoretical framework for the study of impacts including the multiplier, leakage, carrying capacity, the demonstration effect and sustainability
- identify practices that help tourism professionals to minimise the adverse effects of tourism including management of visitors, CSR, visitor education

-threshold -D- to D+ (40-49%): No major omissions or inaccuracies in the deployment of information/skills. Some grasp of theoretical/conceptual/practical elements. Integration of theory/practice/information present intermittently in pursuit of the assessed work's objectives.
-good -B- to B+ (60-69%): Very good performance Most of the relevant information accurately deployed. Good grasp of theoretical/conceptual/practical elements.
