• Professional regulation and practice including standards and codes of practice, Professional behaviour & boundaries and the expectations of a professional programme. • Fitness for practice and upholding the reputation of the profession to promote public confidence. • Equality and diversity including spiritual, cultural and language sensitivity. • The integration of health and social care practice including legislation, policy and health economics • Reflective practice, self-awareness, emotional intelligence and resilience for personal needs and self-care. • Teamwork, human factors • Evidence based practice - locating the evidence to support practice, literature searching, referencing and consideration of learning styles and time management, study skills • Introduction to body systems; anatomy and physiology, pathology, bacteriology, virology and parasitology; biophysics, biochemistry and radiology; dietetics (to meet NMC EU [EC] Directives for general nurses and midwives).

Assessment Strategy

-threshold -Threshold - Grades: D- to D+ Understanding of the facts and principles specific to the topics covered in this module and the outcomes being assessed. Students will be required to achieve a minimum of D- grade in the assignment to in order to pass.
