Overview
Professional regulation and practice including standards and codes of practice, Professional behaviour & boundaries and the expectations of a professional programme. • Fitness for practice and upholding the reputation of the profession to promote public confidence. • Equality and diversity including spiritual, cultural and language sensitivity. • The integration of health and social care practice including legislation, policy and health economics • Reflective practice, self-awareness, emotional intelligence and resilience for personal needs and self-care. • Teamwork, human factors • Evidence based practice - locating the evidence to support practice, literature searching, referencing and consideration of learning styles and time management, study skills • Nature and ethics of the profession and legal aspects of nursing (to meet NMC EU Directive for general nurses) • Introduction to body systems; anatomy and physiology, pathology, bacteriology, virology and parasitology; biophysics, biochemistry and radiology; dietetics, sociology and psychology (to meet NMC EU Directive for general nurses).
