Overview
This course may include but is not limited to Pathophysiology Respiratory/ Cardiovascular/Renal/Neurological systems, Haemodynamic monitoring, Fluid Management, Pharmacology, Principles of Ventilation, Respiratory support, tracheostomy, condition specific care, Haemofiltration, Ethical consideration of withdrawal of care/end of life/Organ Donation

Learning Outcomes
- Analyse and evaluate the advanced care and management of the critically ill patient and their family in the critical care environment
- Analyse and evaluate the provision and application of evidence based practice within the speciality of critical care
- Demonstrate a systematic knowledge of altered anatomy and physiology
- Demonstrate an understanding of the legal and ethical complexities related to critical care
- Examine and evaluate the appropriate interventions when caring for a critically ill patient and their family

Clinical Competencies Students will be expected to complete Clinical Competencies. These will be the National Competency framework for Adult Critical Care Steps 2 and 3 competencies. The students will be allocated the competencies in sections according to the topics covered in the taught sessions.
