Principles of qualitative interviewing: data analysis(In-person)
This session will consider widely-used methods of analysing qualitative interview data. Its first aim is to provide practical instruction in how to develop qualitative analysis from such data (for example, identifying themes). A second aim of the session is consider how the qualitative researcher can ensure her or his analysis or 'account' is an 'adequate' one i.e. that it has faithfully captured the subjective point of view of the subjects being investigated. It will focus primarily on semi-structured and in-depth styles of interviewing and is aimed at postgraduate researchers who are planning to conduct/or have already carried out qualitative interviews as well as those interested in developing qualitative interview skills.
