Advanced approaches to Creating a Learning Culture MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES WORKSHOP

This workshop will introduce you to the main concepts in creating a learning culture, and provide you with an opportunity to explore the topic by considering real-world case studies.

Who is this workshop suitable for?

This is a free workshop open to all. The workshop will be of particular interest to individuals and organisations dedicated to improving healthcare and community outcomes, including staff in Health, Housing, and Social Care Sectors e.g.:

Healthcare Professionals: Doctors, nurses, medical practitioners, and support staff.
Social Workers: Those working in social care and community services.
Housing Professionals: Individuals involved in housing associations and policies.
Aspiring Leaders: Individuals aiming for leadership roles within their respective sectors.

Overview

The workshop forms part of our wider postgraduate teaching programme on prevention, population health and leadership.

This course will be delivered through the medium of English.

Please note, all the workshops are developed to be stand-alone. There is no requirement to attend the 'introduction' workshop before attending the 'advanced' or 'applied' workshop.

Course Lead - Dr. Loreli Jones

I am a medical anthropologist and Senior Lecturer in Healthcare Organisation and Governance in the School of Health Sciences at Bangor University. My research is on healthcare organisation, knowledge, professions, and care practices. My areas of expertise include the quality and safety of hospital care; medical leadership, innovation, and organisational change; systems leadership, collaboration, and integrated care; and policy implementation.

My research is multidisciplinary and translational (theory into practice). I work with the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board to develop healthcare professionals and services in North Wales and contribute to international learning.

I am a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Welsh Crucible Fellow, a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the International Journal of Health Governance, an executive member of the Society for Studies in Organising Healthcare, and a member of the Scientific Committee for the international conference on Organisational Behaviour in Health Care.
