Black History Month: Celebrate and Elevate
Bangor University invites you to this free, family friendly event as part of Black History Month 2023 to Celebrate and Elevate the voice and contributions of black women in North Wales.
Hear a talk by Professor Charlotte Williams OBE. Professor Williams is a Bangor alumna and Honorary Professor at BangorUniversity, Glyndwr University and the University of South Wales. She is the author of ‘A Tolerant Nation?' and award winning personal memoir ‘Sugar and Slate', which explores the intertwined history of Wales, Africa and the Caribbean.
Watch Bangor alumna and actor Marie- Pascale Onyeagoro-Okonkwor's monologue performance 'I am African Everywhere' and see the screening of 'People like us' by award winning film maker Lal Davies.
