Come to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of Bangor Law at the new BULAC (Bangor University Law Clinic) on Bangor High Street, on Thursday 3rd April 2025 4-6pm.
As the event is funded by Bangor Business School's Sir Elwyn Jones Lecture Fund, the event celebrates the history of Law at Bangor as a local law school, as part of the university's history of social entrepreneurship and community engagement, one set up by farmers and quarrymen.
We are celebrating 20 years of Law at Bangor by highlighting the shared work of access to justice and community engagement across the cooperative and social business movement of North Wales, and the law clinic movement of which Bangor is now a part of.
There will be refreshments, speakers, a roundtable on the role of social enterprises in accessing justice in the Gwynedd area.
Following the success of Bangor Law’s ‘Representing Law’ exhibition as part of the Research Committee on the Sociology of Law conference 2024, participating local artists will be invited to respond to the theme of community and access to law alongside a small showcase of colleagues' work and research, in the new Law Clinic space on the high street.
Entertainment will be provided by local spoken word and musical ensemble, Higher Ground Collective.
We very much look forward to seeing you there!
