Concert to launch Wales International Harp Festival, 5-11 April 2023

A musical interlude in the company of Elinor Bennett and friends to celebrate over 50 years of harp performance and teaching, and the 100th anniversary of Bangor University's School of Music.
Elinor Bennett was Harp Tutor at Bangor University for many years, and her ex-students are invited to join her on stage at the Prichard Jones Hall in a concert to launch the fifth Wales International Harp Festival, which will be held in April 2023. The concert is part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the University's Music Department in 1923, in co-operation with Gwyn L. Williams, Director of the celebrations project.
There will be performances of harp music that has been important for Elinor during her career, and will include Danse Sacree et Profane by Debussy, Concerto for Harp by Handel and Three Improvisations for Harp by William Mathias.
Among the artists will be some of Wales' foremost harpists, together with Côr Seiriol, North Wales Harp Ensemble and Bangor University Strings Ensemble, under the direction of Gwyn L. Williams.
