"From child to world citizen: but what kind of world" Mary McAleese
Online Public Lecture
The former President of Ireland, Mary McAleese, discusses the overlooked human rights of children with Sally Holland, Children’s Commissioner for Wales. What must we do to ensure the human rights of every child are protected? What human rights should children expect?
Mary McAleese was President of Ireland from 1997 to 2011, the first person from Northern Ireland to hold that role.
She was the first female Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Queen’s University Belfast and is currently Professor of Children, Religion and Law at the University of Glasgow. She is Chancellor of Trinity College, Dublin, and an Honorary Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales.
This event is hosted by Bangor University and the Learned Society of Wales, and will be chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Iwan Davies.
Audience members will have the opportunity to ask questions following the main discussion.
