The future vision for Public Involvement and Engagement: with the North Wales Medical School
The North Wales Medical School (NWMS) and NWORTH Clinical Trials Unit (NWORTH) are excited to host an open event, exploring the role the public play in healthcare research, and our vision for future engagement.
Support from members of the public is essential in ensuring research is conducted effectively, and good engagement with the community around us is a core focus as we develop our newly formed North Wales Medical School. Join us where we’ll be celebrating the impact and achievements of PARC-Bangor, our current public involvement advice group, and looking forward to how we’ll continue to engage with patients, service users and family members as we continue to grow. There will be open discussions and attendees will have the opportunity to help shape our NWMS and NWORTH public involvement strategies.
Speakers will include Dr Zoë Hoare (Senior Lecturer & NWORTH Director/Principal Statistician), Dr Kirstie Pye (NWORTH CTU Manager), Dr Nia Jones (Clinical Senior Lecturer in Medical Education & NWMS Medical Programme Lead) and Professor Stephen Doughty (Professor & NWMS Pharmacy Programme Lead). We’ll also be joined by Rebecca Burns, Public Involvement Manager at Health and Care Research Wales (HCRW), to explore the development of public involvement in research taking place across Wales.
All staff and students welcome. We look forward to seeing you.
