As a part of the University’s strategic commitment to promoting the health and wellbeing of staff and students, we are delighted to announce the opportunity for a place on the “i-act for managing and promoting positive mental health and wellbeing” course, which is accredited by the UK Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Aim
· To give managers and personal tutors a greater understanding of mental health and wellbeing issues and help them recognise when colleagues may need further help and support;
· To provide practical tools for promoting positive wellbeing in the workplace to help build resilience for ourselves as managers and tutors as well as colleagues;
· To offer guidance and advice for how managers and tutors can connect with colleagues who may be experiencing a mental health or wellbeing issue;
· To equip managers and tutors with practical tools, a resource pack and signposting to further help and support concerning mental health and wellbeing issues;
Who is the i-act training for?
The course is for anyone in a management role across BU. The criteria for ‘manager’ are purposefully broad and include:
· heads of school/professional services
· those who have a line management role
· those who project manage a team
· those who have a leadership/mentoring role for staff or students (including mentors and personal tutors)
- those who are Staff Wellbeing Champions and PhD Supervisors
You will be sent an external email from i-act with a link to follow to complete their registration before the course. Please note that prior to attending the course you will you will need to register on the i-act website. You will be sent a link for this in due course. You will not be able to complete the i-act course without registering in advance.
