Ice & Fire back in Bangor
There was another chance for students and the public to hear the voices and experiences of refugees on the 15th of April, when SHiLSS warmly welcomed back Ice and Fire productions.
Ice and Fire productions, part of Actors for Human Rights, who explore human rights stories through performance, where actors read out real-life refugee testimonies, bringing the individuals and their stories to the forefront of this very politicised issue.
Explanations of the asylum process and the individualised contexts behind the stories brought to life the brutality of not only what people are fleeing from, but of the UK asylum process itself. The event was joined by Plaid Cymru MP candidate Catrin Wager who was a founding member of Pobol i Bobol a local refugee support agency and Lesley Conran from Dyma Ni Befriending, a local refugee befriending group, who made up part of a Q&A panel at the end of the performance.
