Teaching and Learning: Curriculum Development Project with the State of Telangana, India
The University’s collaboration with the Telangana State Council of Higher Education in India, part of a Global Wales partnership, is moving forward apace.
Senior leaders from our teaching and learning and quality assurance teams recently shared their expertise with counterparts from Telangana State through an online development workshop, and the University will host a delegation from Telangana at Bangor next week.
During the online development workshop, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Nichola Callow provided an overview of the drivers for curriculum reform including recruitment, student experience and graduate employability and Dr Ama Eyo,
Director of Teaching and Learning for the College of Arts, Humanities and Business shared a case study on the development of the LLB programme. Dr Myfanwy Davies, Head of Quality Enhancement, provided an overview of the quality assurance frameworks in place for Bangor University programmes.
Professor Callow commented;
After sharing our insights, it was great to engage in discussion sessions where we and our Indian colleagues compared and contrasted our experiences.
We have learnt a lot from enhancements we have made, and continue to make, to our own curriculum. We hope our insights are useful in terms of supporting Telangana state’s curriculum development, and similarly I’m sure we will learn a lot from our Indian colleagues as this exciting project develops.
