I felt supported in being more than just a student.

Head of Project Development at YipiYap
Studied: BA German with Spanish, 2018
I chose to study at Bangor after visiting an open day and feeling 'at home'. There was something about the small Languages department, the beautiful views and the friendly faces that made Bangor seem so welcoming.
“What really clinched it for me at Bangor, though, was the departmental staff in the Modern Foreign Languages department, who really helped me to sink my teeth in to university. From encouraging me to speak at Cambridge during my final year, to nominating me for the Staff Choice Award for my work as a Course Rep, I felt supported in being more than just a student.
“My first two and a half years post-university were spent either working in Germany, or working with German-speaking clients. It goes without saying that my degree prepared me for that, but the less obvious benefit was its profound impact on my public-speaking, my resilience, and my ability to take one risk after another!
“I now work at Yipiyap, the UK's leading provider of in-school tutoring support in Maths, English and Science. My current role is split into two categories: Business Development and Project Management. I establish and maintain partnerships with educational institutions, develop new business models or services, and manage projects with our partners! After a year in this role, I have recently moved on to line management.
“Bangor is a brilliant town and an even better University. My Professors and lecturers were world-leading and truly cared that we got the best grade possible. I took a class during my year abroad in Berlin, and on my first day, the German professor handed me a book that was written by my personal tutor at Bangor. Talk about small world! If that doesn't convince you, I don't know what will!”
