Professors of Forestry
![]() 1910-1919 Fraser Story was educated at Edinburgh where he won several medals. He was appointed Assistant Lecturer in 1904 and Professor of Forestry in 1910. |
1992-1998 W.B. (Bart) Banks Initiailly trained as a Chemist, and between 1964 and 1977 was a Scientist in the Forest Products Research Laboratory. He obtained a PhD from Imperial College London and joined Bangor in 1977. |

2012-current John Healey obtained a BA in Botany from Oxford, and PhD in Tropical Forest Science from Cambridge. He joined the department as Lecturer in Tropical Forestry in 1988. |
1975-1992 Laurence Roche obtained his first degree in Forestry from Trinity College Dublin. He then studied for his MSc and PhD at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Roche worked for the Canadian Forest Service and in Nigeria before his appointment in 1975. |
2014-current Morag McDonald obtained a BSc in Agriculture and Environmental Sciences from Newcastle University and a PhD in Silviculture from Edinburgh University. She worked for the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia, Canada and was appointed lecturer in Bangor in 2001, and awarded a personal chair in 2014. |
