Bangor University attends the UK Saudi Interest Group meeting
On 25th November, 2021, Noor Al-Zubaidi, Regional Manager at Bangor University and co-chair of the UK Saudi Interest Group (UKSIG) welcomed many colleagues back for a face-to-face UKSIG meeting.
The UKSIG meeting is a forum of 100+ UK higher education institutions, bringing together colleagues from the UK's higher education organisations, the British Council, and key stakeholders in Saudi Arabia.
Attending the meeting were Professor Sir Steve Smith, the Prime Minister Special Representative for Education to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Professor Amal, Saudi Arabia Cultural Attaché, UK, and Eilidh Kennedy McLean MBE, British Council Country Director for Saudi Arabia. Discussions took place with regards to promoting partnerships and co-operation between UK universities and relevant Saudi organisations. The meeting also included a briefing from the Saudi Cultural Bureau in London which focused on reporting the latest updates from the Ministry of Education. The British Council in Saudi Arabia also delivered a market briefing about the latest market trends and updates about the scholarship schemes available and partnership opportunities.
