Dr Craig Prescott and the Royals
Dr Craig Prescott, Lecturer in Law, has been very busy recently commenting on the latest developments regarding the British royal family. Dr Prescott is among the most esteemed international commentators who contributes regularly to articles, websites and news programmes.
In response to this very busy period, Dr Prescott said:
‘The death of Queen Elizabeth II and the accession of the King to the throne was a significant moment in the history of the UK which attracted enormous interest from the media based in the UK and overseas. It has been a pleasure to play a role in explaining how this moment has played out through the various ceremonies and events that took place in Wales and the rest of the UK, including the State Funeral of the Late Queen. It was also an opportunity to examine the issues now facing the monarchy under the new King. These include the preparations for the coronation, the role of the new Prince and Princess of Wales, and the ongoing activities of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. With these issues in mind, media interest in the monarchy will only continue.’
