Students visit Houses of Parliament and Supreme Court
The Public Law team here at Bangor University have been to London this week with students who study Law.
This week some of our undergraduates and postgraduate students in Law visited the UK’s capital city with the aim of visiting key political buildings and expanding their knowledge on public law.
Stephen Clear joined students in London visiting the UK Supreme Court and UK Parliament. Facilitated by Plaid Cymru MP Hywel Williams the students were able to tour the UK Parliament and experience first-hand what it’s like to be involved with politics in the UK.
Our students had a guided tour of the Palace of Westminster, watched debates in the House of Commons and UK House of Lords, all in one visit. They even managed to watch Prime Ministers Questions live with the new prime minister Rishi Sunak.
The trip provided a great insight for our students who are researching Public Law, but also gave other Law students an opportunity to lean more about the legal system here in the UK.
We’re looking forward to our next legal event which will see Hywel Williams MP visit us at Bangor University as a guest lecturer.
