This week, Omaro Gonem (Research Project Support Officer & PhD student) attended the Asia Communications & Photonics Conference (ACP)/International Photonics & OptoElectronics Meetings (POEM), hosted at the Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan, from Nov 4-7 2023.

ACPPOEM is one of the largest conferences in the Asia-Pacific region on optical communication, photonics and relevant technologies. It provides the opportunity for researchers to share their recent research outcomes, as well as the opportunity to meet academics, scientists and researchers from different parts of the world

Omaro presented his paper titled: 'Experimental Demonstration of a Dual-Arm Drop Element-based Soft-ROADM for Future Optical-Wireless Converged Access Networks', co-authored by Dr Roger Giddings (DSP Centre Deputy Operations Director) and Prof Jianming Tang (Operations Director).
