Bangor Business School celebrated its recent membership of the Institute for Small Business and Enterprise
Bangor Business School celebrated its recent membership of the Institute for Small Business and Enterprise [ISBE] by hosting two events last month. The ISBE Early Career Researcher/Academic [ECR/A] Spring Symposium ran back to back to the ISBE Rural Enterprise Special Interest Group [SIG] Workshop. Both events brought in academics from across the UK and further afield.
Journal Editors Professor Paul Jones of Swansea University and Professor Susan Marlow of the University of Nottingham supported the ISBE ECR/A Spring Symposium. They gave invaluable insight into writing for publication and impact and the Research Excellence Framework [REF]. Visitors noted the event as very inclusive and welcoming, and feedback has been very helpful to participants on the day.
The ISBE Rural Enterprise SIG Event was supported by colleagues across the University, Dr Rebecca Jones and Dr Eifiona Thomas Lane, and externally by SIG Chairs, Professor Robert Newbery and Professor Gary Bosworth of the University of Northumbria. Interactive sessions sparked conversations around the theme: Rural Enterprise and Community, and a facilitated networking session has led to new collaborative research teams being formed.
A big thank you to Dr Liz Heyworth- Thomas for organising and hosting the ISBE events, and to Dr Edward Thomas Jones, Dr Siwan Mitchelmore and Professor Rosalind Jones who supported the events, and to all BBS staff who were able to attend.
