Buzz as Olympic Flame reaches Bangor
Sports experts from Bangor University will be on hand to answer any health and fitness related questions you may have during the Olympic Flame celebrations in Bangor on Monday, May 28th.
Members of staff from the School of Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences (SHES) will be at the Deiniol Centre, in the centre of Bangor throughout the day, hosting a number of activities; including balance tests on a simulated surfboard and reaction time tests.
They are also keen to share information about the research that is currently being undertaken at the school as well as explain why exercise is so important to us all. There may even be an opportunity for you to get involved in current research studies.
Jeanette Thom, a Senior Lecturer at the SHES, said: “With the Olympic flame coming past it will be the perfect opportunity to get everyone enthusiastic about the Olympics - we are really looking forward to showcasing our research and expertise in this area so do come and see us and find out what kind of research goes on at SHES and get involved!”
There will also be a chance for children to get involved with the Children’s Mini Olympics on the Bowling Green from 12pm.
