Celebrating graduation and winning a University prize
A BA History graduate has won the Dr John Robert Jones prize, which is awarded to the four students across the university who have achieved the highest marks in their degree subjects. Cerys Hudson, 21, from Llanfrothen, Gwynedd, was presented with a cheque of £1,000 during her graduation ceremony.
Cerys said, “I am very pleased and honoured to receive the Dr. John Robert Jones Prize. It was a lovely surprise to be informed that I was one of this year’s recipients.”
Cerys, who is a former pupil of Ysgol Ardudwy and Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, chose to study at Bangor because of the close community.
She said, “The first time I visited Bangor University I felt a warm and welcoming atmosphere. There is a real community feeling here.
“There were many highlights during my time at university. I particularly enjoyed completing my dissertation research on the subject of genealogy - and of course, making good friends.
“I would like to thank the lecturers of the School of History, Welsh History and Archaeology for their excellent guidance and support throughout my three years of study.”
