CITCOM - Citizenry and Community
After the initial international meeting in Bangor in November, partners have been undertaking activities in their own regions. Here in north Wales, a day of roundtables was undertaken with rural communities where they identified and debated the issues they face and sought likely solutions. Postgraduate students from the Community Development programme facilitated the day and prepared the report that will lead to further actions. A new series of roundtables will take place over the coming months, targetting further rural communities and interest groups, developing understanding and actions around rural issues and gaining a greater voice.
The next international meeting is in Perpignan, southern France early April. Wales will be represented by the project lead Shan Ashton, Lifelong Learning, and regional participants Elspeth Morris and Laura Telleri Stafford.
CITCOM is a two year Grundtvig Multilateral Project and is funded by the European Commission. Partners include Wales, France, Italy, Lithuania, Romania and Czech Republic.
