Double success at the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research conference
Emily Holmes and Dr Paul Parham of the Centre for Health Economics and Medicines Evaluation (CHEME) at Bangor University were awarded best podium presentation overall and best podium presentation for new investigators, respectively, at the 16th annual European congress of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) in Dublin on the 6th November.
Attended by nearly 4,000 delegates and with over 1,800 presentations, their achievements are significant, and reflect the quality of their research. Emily's presentation described the application of behavioural economics to the understanding of medication adherence, while Paul introduced a novel approach to reducing uncertainty in decision analytic modelling.
Commenting on their awards, Professor Dyfrig Hughes said:
"This is a proud moment for CHEME and an acknowledgement of the international standard of the research being undertaken within the Centre. Both Emily and Paul, and their collaborators, have worked tirelessly to produce research that provides insights into why patients are not fully adherent to treatments, and which will impact on the of methods of health economic evaluation".
