Highlighting Cancer research at Bangor University
An event at Bangor University marks World Cancer Day on 4 February 2020.
A free event at Pontio Lecture Room 2, between 6.00 and 8.15 pm highlighting the cancer research being undertaken at Bangor University marks the 20th anniversary of World Cancer Day. There will be a number of short talks from oncologists and university researchers followed by a question and answer session.
PhD researcher Angharad Wilkie from the University’s School of Medical Sciences has organised the event to show the collaboration which exists between the University, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, North West Cancer Research, Tenovus Cancer Care and Cancer Research Wales.
There will be a question and answer panel at the end to allow members of the public to ask questions of the researchers.
The talks intended for the public, so everyone should be able to understand the terminology and enjoy the evening.
There will also be a raffle held on the evening, with 1st prize RibRide (Menai Bridge) tickets, 2nd prize of horse riding vouchers at the Anglesey riding centre and 3rd prize of Pontio vouches, as well as a selection of smaller prizes.
The event is free to attend and booking is not required.
