IT Employability Expo
On Friday 31st May Software Alliance Wales, together with Technocamps and the Schools of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at Bangor University are organising an IT Employability EXPO at the University’s Neuadd Reichel, on Ffriddoedd Road, Bangor .
The exhibition will be a chance for graduates from the University to demonstrate the work they've been doing for their final year projects and for IT businesses to exhibit and try to recruit the best of this year’s talent. The event which runs between 10.00- 5.00, is open to all and refreshments will be provided.
In parallel there will Computer Science talks aimed at showcasing work being carried out by computer scientist at Bangor University that may be of interest to software developers looking for collaborators and new technology ideas. There will be talks on topics from Haptics technologies to High Performance Computing and Natural Language Processing.
State of the art computer science aside, there will also be talks for all businesses, aimed at making sure that local businesses are secure and competitive in these turbulent economic times.
Professor Nigel John, who leads the Visualization and Medical Graphics Research Group at Bangor will be giving a talk on the use of Haptics Technologies. He said: "I think it should be a great event, we're always looking for collaborators so I'm hoping that some IT professionals and entrepreneurs will take this opportunity to join us".

Paul Sandham, Managing Director of innovative Caernarfon based Geolocative services startup GeoSho commented: "This event makes a lot of sense, we're really looking forward to being able to talk directly to Bangors IT graduates, and find out more about what the academics are working on in Computer Science."
