Prospective students find out about universities

Local students can get their uni questions answered at the North West Wales UCAS Higher Education Conference being held today (Monday 4 April).

Students from  across north west Wales applying for university or college should visit the UCAS exhibition at  Bangor University to learn all about life in higher education.

Dozens of universities and colleges from across the UK will be available to speak to anyone thinking about taking their first step into higher education. The event on Monday 4 April from 10.00-1.00 is also a great opportunity for young people to ask UCAS advisers their burning questions about their applications.

Higher education has lots to offer all young people – not just those predicted high grades in academic subjects. It’s all about giving the inspiration and opportunities for individuals to develop their skills and knowledge, the freedom to be creative, and the support to achieve their best.

Dana Cameron, Head of Marketing & Events said: ‘UCAS exhibitions are a great way to explore your options – whether that's university, an apprenticeship, career opportunities, volunteer work, or a gap year. We really encourage people to come along to [venue], where they can meet the experts and find out about the full range of opportunities that are available.’

Carys Roberts, Director of Marketing & Recruitment at Bangor University said: ‘It’s important that our students make informed choices at this crucial stage. Our event on Monday 4 April is the ideal chance to find out what’s on offer straight from the universities and colleges they could be studying at very soon.’ 

Bangor University has been hosting UCAS exhibitions for  five years and around 800 students  will attend  to see the exhibitions from the 65 universities taking part.
