Successful ‘Mindfulness in Society’ Conference
The Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice held a successful international conference on “Mindfulness and Society” in Chester this year from the 3rd to the 7th July 2015. The conference attracted prominent national and international speakers. Speakers included world-renowned researchers such as John Teasdale and Mark Williams from Oxford University, and Philippe Goldin from Stanford University. Ruby Wax gave a brilliant pre-dinner talk, and many well known practitioners of Mindfulness such as Vidyamala Burch, the founder of Breathworks, Nancy Bardacke, who founded the Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting Program, and Saki Santorelli from the Centre for Mindfulness, Massachusetts gave presentations.
Over 500 people attended, and the conference attracted a diverse gathering with papers and talks given on subjects ranging from mindfulness in legislation, to mindfulness in schools, alongside workshops and meditation sessions throughout the duration of the event. The feedback has been immensely positive. Join us at our conference next year, similar time (8th-12th July), same place (Crown Plaza Hotel, Chester)for an unforgettable experience.
