Bangor University part of a new alliance for arts & humanities research in Wales

Bangor University are part of a new partnership between Wales’ nine universities which will drive collaboration and advance arts and humanities research and innovation in Wales.

Facilitated by the Wales Innovation Network (WIN), the Wales Arts & Humanities Alliance (WAHA) has been set up following a meeting earlier this summer in which research leaders recognised the potential for further collaboration in arts and humanities across Welsh universities.

WAHA will provide a platform for collaboration between universities in Wales to enable more effective sharing of expertise, resource and skills which will further the research and innovation ambitions of arts and humanities in Wales. WAHA will build relationships with key external stakeholders and with national arts and humanities groups across the UK.

This collaboration provides an exciting opportunity to showcase the wealth of research and innovation in Arts and Humanities across Wales. At Bangor University, we are particularly excited about the possibility of engaging in innovative collaborative opportunities in a wide range of disciplines – from philosophy and religion to criminology, and archaeology and heritage to language, to name but a few – and to deepen our understanding of societies and cultures, incurring real impact on human life.

Members of WAHA include Aberystwyth University, Bangor University, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Cardiff University, Open University in Wales, Swansea University, University of South Wales, UW Trinity Saint David and Wrexham University.
