Campus Life

Introduction

Bangor University Campus Life events programme is a community run by the Head of Residential Life, Residential Life Coordinator, and Campus Life Crew and supported by the Mentor Team for all residents of University Halls.

The Campus Life programme is committed to supporting interaction between students of all halls, encouraging tolerance and understanding and fostering a close residential community through a calendar of inclusive events. We have a calendar of events to overcome barriers for the non-sporting population, which typically might be most of our residents!

Events

Lots to do. All included!

We hold all kinds of events monthly and always look for new ideas. The Campus Life calendar of events is known for its friendly coming together of halls, so we want you to get involved, regardless of your skills, abilities or know-how and enhance the community spirit. So if you're into pizza parties, want to learn to cook, fancy singing your heart out at karaoke, are excited by mountain walking, or enjoy quizzes and film nights - this is the place for you. The great news is, it's all included! (Except for some of our coach trips).

What's On

We know how difficult being away from home can be, so we've come up with sessions to help with that transition.    Our varied "How To..." sessions will share top tips on how to live with your new flat mates, manage your finances, deal with the changes in your life and even meditate.

Our "How to... Cook" evenings are designed to help you create a meal from the cheapest and simplest ingredients, all with the support of our Campus Crew!

Weekends are dedicated to being social and relaxing. So it's time to chill with your flat mates at our weekly Yoga session, or perhaps bag yourself a FREE Sunday roast, listen to some live music, watch a film or get into a lip-sync battle!
No self-respecting campus events programme would be complete without the obligatory film night, karaoke sing-alongs, sporting events and trips off campus, to name a few of the activities.

Our events allow you to take a break from your studies and the lecture theatre, meet new people and participate in activities you already enjoy, or perhaps try your hand at something new!

We're passionate about creating accessible activities for all our students. Recent research has shown that students involved with campus life are more likely to complete their degrees and perform better academically. The added benefits to physical and mental health are significant as you venture away from your support network, perhaps for the first time.
