About This Course
Our new PGDip in Community Learning Disability Nursing is a Specialist Practice Qualification (SPQ) designed for registered learning disability nurses who want to specialise in delivering high-quality, inclusive care in community settings. It will be delivered via flexible online learning and supports both full-time and part-time study routes; ideal for professionals balancing clinical practice with professional development.
Currently in development, this course is designed to meet the complex and evolving needs of people with learning disabilities. It will support practitioners to develop advanced knowledge, person-centred practice, and leadership skills to work effectively in multi-agency settings. You will gain the expertise to deliver inclusive care, improve quality of life, and drive forward equity in healthcare.

Entry requirements*
Applicants must:
- Be registered with a statutory nursing body (learning disability) for at least one year
- A 2:1 or first-class degree preferred; applications from those with a 2:2 will be considered based on references and personal statement
- Evidence access to clinical placements aligned to programme learning outcomes
- Have a current enhanced DBS
- Provide a strong personal statement and professional reference
We welcome applications from mature learners and those returning to education after a career break.
