Women's Archive Wales Conference 2024
We are pleased to promote Women's Archive Wales' Annual Conference, which is being held at Bangor University this year.
Women's Archive Wales (WAW) have put together an exciting and interesting programme of papers by a variety of experienced and new historians. We are delighted that three representatives of ISWE will be giving papers:
- Lizzy Walker, 'Women as landowners and lanholders in north-east Wales: Evidence from 17th and 18th century leases', Paper 12.
- Dr Meinir Moncrieffe, ''A good natured and honest woman ys gods gift and no treasure comparable unto her': the silent abuse of Welsh gentry wives', Paper 15.
- Dr Shaun Evans, 'Gentlewoman, Antiquarian Activity and Welsh Historical Conciousness in the 19th Century', Paper 16.
There will also be an opportunity to hear about WAW's latest projects - Women and Sport and Wales and Setting the Record Straight (Capturing the voices of women in Welsh politics), and the winner of the Avril Rolph Bursary 2024 will be announced.
