Scoreboards for Treborth playing fields through The Bangor Fund
The Bangor Fund, administered by the Development and Alumni Relations Office, has enabled Chwaraeon Bangor Sports to purchase and install two new outdoor scoreboards.
The new scoreboards are located on the 3G pitch at Treborth playing fields site and on the hockey pitch on the Ffriddoedd site. Both pitches host over 200 matches per year along with being key resources for the wider Bangor community.
Installing these scoreboards - which display the score, measure time and provide visual display for players, coaches and spectators - has enhanced the student experience for a range of University sporting clubs. Installing the scoreboards at the two different sport sites has ensured that several sports’ clubs can benefit from the same experience, these include Men and Women’s Football, Men and Women’s Rugby, Men and Women’s Hockey and Men and Women’s Lacrosse clubs. Over 500 students per week are benefitting from this equipment.
Emma Marshall, Head of Development and Alumni Relations, said “So many of our alumni were involved in sporting clubs during their time here in Bangor and being able to fund these two new scoreboards has provided a very visible demonstration of alumni support to current students.”
The Bangor Fund enables the University to deliver a margin of excellence or an element of “additionality” to the student experience. For further information please click here or contact Persida Chung, Development Officer, on p.v.chung@bangor.ac.uk
